General questions
What can I expect when I commission you?
- First there is (e-mail) contact about the project, to make sure we're on the same page.
- Everything will be summarized in an e-mail so we have everything in one place and can also double-check.
- Now you can pay upfront if you'd like, or reserve your spot for 50% of the total price.
- You will receive the first concepts/sketches and are sent to you usually within a week from the start.
- You can revise the sketches/concepts twice.
- When the concepts are approved I continue refining the concept with flat colors. This too will be sent to you.
- You can revise twice at this stage as well, however: These will be the last revisions. After this stage the rendering (detailing) will start and it will damage the endresult if we make any major changes after this point.
- When you approve of the color sceme it's time to pay the second half if you didn't pay upfront.
- You will receive the final illustrations as discussed.
Do you work with a contract?
Yes I do, you can find the terms and conditions right here!
How long in advance do I need to contact you if I want a commission done? How long is your waiting list?
Please contact me as soon as you know that you want to commission me. Depending on what you need I might be able to fit you in within a month. If not, you can still reserve your spot later on for 50% of the total price. The waiting list varies, so please send me a message if you want to know if there is any, and how long it is.
How long does it take for you to complete a project?
This depends on the project. If it’s a single high detail illustration you can expect it to take up to 2 weeks from the moment we officially start the project. I will let you know when exactly that is. If it’s an anime style illustration you can expect it to take up to one week. If they are multiple commissions, I will let you know what to expect.
Which programs can you work with?
For drawing I exclusively use Photoshop. For commissions that require text editing I use Indesign. I’m also familiar with programs like OSB (screen recording) and Hitfilm Express (video editing).
Do you also draw with pen and paper?
No, I don’t. I specialized in digital art so I can reach a bigger audience and offer my services without the additional costs of sending physical work around the globe.
Can I commission you for something you didn't mention on your page?
Most likely! Let me know what you’re looking for and I will tell you whether or not I can help you out. If I can’t, I might be able to refer you to someone who can.
Can you draw a family member?
If your family member is an animal: Then yes! If it’s a human, then no.
Can you draw my pet, farm animal, or wild animal?
Yes I can! My specialization is in creature design, so I can help you out with this, provided you have good reference images available. I only draw realistic animal portraits, I don’t draw them in the Spudnik and Knofje style or anime. They fall in the same price bracket as the realistic creature designs.
Do you draw in exchange for exposure or a trade?
Nope, I don’t do this. If you’re low on money and you need cheap art, you might be able to find what you’re looking for among my art packs.
Do you sell physical prints of your art?
Some artworks are for sale, these are personal projects which are not commissioned by someone. I do sell them through Displate. If you commission me and you’d like to have it printed on metal as well, I can help you out with that. (The dimensions on which you can have them printed are limited though, so make sure you let me know in advance). If you’d like to have it printed on some other material, I recommend you look up a local service that can help you out with printing the digital file I will send you. This is a cheaper solution.
Licensing questions
Can I commission your art for commercial artworks?
Yes you can, however, this may affect the price depending on what you plan to do with it as the default prices are non-exclusive.
Can I edit the images I commissioned from you?
No, you cannot edit the illustration unless specified otherwise (like with art packs). This usually means that you do not alter the original illustration in any way, shape, or form except for size changes, flipping the illustration, adding a frame, or zooming in. You can also not have edits done by any artist but myself. If you do need to be able to edit the images, just ask me about the possibilities. You can also do so after an image is already finished and needs editing at some point. It’s better to let me know in advance though because that will leave more room for changes.
Can I use your images for my logo/blog/website/business etc?
Only if you commissioned it. If there are images needed for educational purposes, feel free to contact me. I might let you use it for free, that is, if you properly refer to me, it’s online, and public.
Payment questions
How do I pay you?
Exclusively through paypal.
Will I receive an invoice for my administration and tax returns?
I don’t include tax in my commissions, so you’re not paying for them through me, which means you also cannot have tax returned. But if you’d like to have an invoice without tax for your administration, I can help you out with that!
